Movie Thrill

Movies to watch soon

so far I have listed the movies I want to watch as soon as they reach the Big Screen

1. "Street Fighter-The Legend of Chun Li" - stars Kristin Kreuk, she's so fragile to be Chun Li..but we'll see

2. "Dragon Ball Evolution" - ok, I'm not an anime fan but the trailer seems very interesting. A lot of action!

3. "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" - Not a comic book fan either! Don't you want to know about Logan's past? yes Hugh Jackman =)

4. "Angels and Demons" - the sequel to Dan Brown's book Da Vinci Code.

5. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" - Do we really need to wait this long? The lead actors are already growing as to how old they are suppose to be in the film.

6. "New Moon" - Unlike HP, this one follows Twilight right away which was shown last year. The fans are really anticipating this.

7. "UP" - Another Pixar animated movie, the trailer is cute!hehe! I like the old man's house xD

8. "Phoebe in Wonderland" - interesting story about a young girl

9. "The Secret of Moonacre" - fantasy and adventure, starring Dakota Blue Richards ( The Golden Compass)

10. What can you add to make it top ten?=)

The Washington Ballet Company is canceling the rest of its Studio Company tour after a 20-year-old dancer was fatally injured when she was hit by a car...

Police said Mary Saludares was hit around 10 p.m. Friday as she crossed Route 24 at Edgewood Road. She died early Saturday.

The Washington Ballet Company said Saludares, who began dancing at age 6 while living in the Philippines, was selected to join the Studio Company for its 2008-2009 season.

Saludares began dancing at the age of six under Sofia Elizalde and Raul Sauz at Steps Dance Studio in Manila, Philippines. In 2006, she received the highest Royal Academy of Dance Award, the Solo Seal. She had the honor of being the first Filipino entry in the 2006 Adeline Genée International Ballet Competition. In 2004, she received the Luva Adameit Award in the 1st NAMCYA Ballet Competition in the Philippines. She later attended the School of American Ballet and The Washington School of Ballet's Release Time year round program.

Artistic director Septime Webre said Saludares was a beautiful dancer and the company mourns her death.

"No words can describe the pain of losing Mary," Webre said. "She was not only a beautiful dancer, but a radiant soul who emitted peace and joy. The entire TWB family mourns her passing and extends its thoughts and prayers to Mary’s family."

Twilight Saga

I always go into bookstores and just scan through the new books displayed in the best seller table. While I was in NYC, either I go to Borders of Barnes and Nobles and spend hours their just waiting for time. The book cover in black and red with an apple held by ivory white skin hands caught my eyes. I read the summary at the back of the book and immediately I wanted to buy it.

Twilight is a story of a teenage girl, Bella Swan from Phoenix Arizona who relocated to Forks, a different environment from the place she grew up. She stayed with her father Charlie and went to school in Forks High School. There she met the angelic beautiful family of the Cullens. They seemed to have a group of their own, but as the days went buy Bella falls for Edward Cullen, her seatmate in Biology class who acted very weird in their first meeting. Little did Bella know that Edward is a vampire and the smell of Bella's blood makes him to want her more. Eventually they fall in love as the lion fell for the lamb. Together they prove their love for each other as they learn from their differences.

Newmoon seemed boring for me after reading twilight. It introduces Jacob Black, the best friend of Bella with another characteristic as a werewolf . Bella discovers that her bestfriend falls in love with her also.

Eclipse follows Newmoon and features the clash between Edward and Jacob as Bella loves them both.

Breaking Dawn is the last book of the Saga. It finishes the story between Bella and Edward and also Jacob as part of the family. I was disappointed with the last book because the story ended quickly as it may have been expounded to excite the readers.

I like Twilight the most because it was written to tingle the senses. It is written in Bella's point of view so ladies can very much relate (I think men too coz I've seen a lot of men buying the book in bookstores!) but I will be waiting for Midnight Sun, the retelling of Twilight in Edward's point of view. hmmm..exciting!

ZsaZsa Zaturnnah

I really wanted to watch ze play 3 years ago and it waz reztaged 6 times before(it even had a film for the Metro Manila Film Fest) and finally I was able to watch the matinee show last February 15, 2009.

The play is funny, amusing, and very Pinoy. The story surrounds around Ada the baklush parlorista with Didi the assistant. Ada transforms into a vuluptuous superhero whenever he swallows the pink stone (from outer space that fell into him while taking a bath) and shouts "Zaturnnah". She then fights the crimes in their barannggay and eventually saves the man of his dream, Dodong. Though hesitant to have a relationship with Dodong because of Ada's previous relationship which turned out bad, at the end of the story, Dodong finally falls in love with Ada and asks him to give him a chance.

The story is homosexual but I didn't really focus on it because I was watching ze play staged by Tanghalang Pilipino as a whole. Eula Valdes as ZsaZsa Zaturnnah is fresh. She has a good voice and she even is flexible showing her kicks and splits. I loved somehow the character of Didi, the ever loyal assistant/bff of Ada. The play is laugh trip as if I was watching a stand up comedy in the Little Theater of CCP. I was dismayed though because Arnold Reyes didn't play Dodong in the afternoon show. Well, overall ze play is gay literally and metaphorically.=)

Lunch Date w/ mother

After church, my mom and I had lunch at Pepperlunch in Shangri la Plaza mall. I was very curious so I begged her that we have lunch there. Their food is simple more on Japanese style.

It is served on a special plate that is from Japan and heats up to a certain degree which keeps the food warm longer. I ate the Salmon Pepper, it is quite good knowing that the only spice in it is just salt and pepper w/ butter. It is more expensive than the normal fastfood but also affordable if you are a steak eater. The serving is quite big but my mom and I finished our order! It is full filling.

He's Just not That into You

I enjoyed this movie. It is funny, entertaining, and casual. The dialogues are long but the fact that the characters portrayed do exist in real life makes it more interesting. I'm not pretty sure if the dating rules mentioned are still effective now..I don't really care, I just want to be the exception. =p
